Nutritional Therapy and How it Can Help You

Do you have low energy? Brain fog? Headaches? Mood swings? Poor digestion? Food cravings after a meal? Weight problems? Allergies? Menopause causing discomfort? Depression?

Unfortunately the reason there are so many different diets which appear to work for some, and not for others, is that there is no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’ diet for everybody.

There are many wonderful books on nutrition and diet, and by far the most effective advice is to eat a mostly plant based diet. Although I used to advise people to eat according to their metabolic type, I have since changed my mind. Having recommended a mostly plant based diet to my clients over the past year, I am now in no doubt that this is the best way forward. Some of us wait for a real health scare before changing the way we eat, but the wise do it before they get ill.

If you really want to prevent future illnesses by strengthening your immune system and not allowing your body to build up harmful free radicals, there is no getting away from it – in a nutshell:

  • Eat as much raw fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds as you like.
  • Avoid red meat, and limit all animal produce, particularly dairy.
  • Avoid all refined and processed food, chemicals, sugars, preservatives and colourants.

I know, I know! We all say that if we had to listen to all the advice we are given, we will starve! It seems there is something negative to say about every type of food we have available to us! Let me reassure you that it only seems that way and it is not as difficult to eat healthily as you might imagine it is.
